The Future of Data Centres In Light of Global Net Zero Commitments
Southeast Asia’s data centre industry is at a critical tipping point. Rising AI and cloud computing demands are super charging the region’s digital economy, but this has led to a problematic concern of growing emissions. At the same time, global policy and business leaders have now made public commitments to reaching Net Zero by mid-century. Decarbonisation requires a value-chain collective effort in which transformative solutions are needed. For data centres, it requires a closer look at its entire lifecycle from design to procurement to disposal and resource recovery. This session explores the complex challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for the next generation of data centres in light of a region’s clean energy future.
