Socomec Unveils DELPHYS XM: High Power Density and Superior Efficiency UPS for Sustainable Data Centres
)
Singapore – 9th October 2024 — Socomec a specialist in LV power management solutions, is proud to announce the launch of its latest solution, the DELPHYS XM, an advanced Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) system ranging from 300 to 800kVA/kW. Designed to meet the demands of modern Data Centres and other critical infrastructures, the DELPHYS XM features exceptional power density, superior energy efficiency, and a modular architecture. This comprehensive solution reduces the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) while ensuring maximum power availability.
The DELPHYS XM UPS addresses these challenges by offering industry-leading power density, delivering up to 800 kVA/kW in a footprint of just 0.8m², making it one of the most compact UPS systems available globally. Its energy-efficient design achieves up to 99% efficiency in Smart Conversion Mode and 97.1% in online double conversion, significantly reducing energy consumption, cooling requirements, and CO₂ emissions. Running the UPS in Smart Conversion Mode at 50% average load can result in annual savings of 42 tons of CO₂.
“DELPHYS XM represents a significant leap forward in power management technology. It addresses two major challenges – the demand for more power and the pressure on space, especially in Data Centre” said Valentino Formentin, Product Creation leader at Socomec. He further added, “With its compact design, energy-saving capabilities, and robust performance, it’s designed to meet the evolving needs of modern Data Centres and critical infrastructure.”
According to Structure Research, the APAC region's colocation Data Centre market reached approximately 10,233 MW of critical IT capacity in 2023 and is expected to nearly double by 2028, growing at a five-year compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 13.3%. As the Data Centre sector in the region experiences rapid expansion driven by digital transformation, cloud adoption, and the rise of AI and IoT technologies, power constraints are becoming an even greater challenge, compounded by growing concerns around sustainability. With increasing space limitations and land scarcity are pushing operators to seek compact, high-density solutions that optimize space and power efficiency.
Sustainability is central to the Delphys XM, which features Energy Saver Mode to maximise efficiency even under low-load conditions. By integrating advanced digital services like live monitoring, remote diagnostics, and troubleshooting, the system enhances operational efficiency and minimizes carbon footprints, further supporting green Data Centre initiatives.
Socomec's APAC CEO, O’Niel Dissanayake said: “The DELPHYS XM redefines power management by balancing performance, efficiency, and sustainability. We’re excited to introduce this solution at Data Centre World Asia, Singapore where attendees can explore its potential to drive down operational costs while enhancing reliability.”
Designed for flexibility, the DELPHYS XM supports both lead-acid and lithium-ion batteries and offers top or bottom cable entry to accommodate different site needs. Its IP-rated electronics and conformal coating protect against site environmental conditions, ensuring adaptability across multiple applications.
With a user-friendly 10” HMI for easy monitoring, full front access, and hot-swappable
100 kW modules, the DELPHYS XM minimises maintenance time and complexity. Its modular design also eliminates any single point of failure, supporting N or N+1 redundancy for increased uptime and reliability.
The DELPHYS XM will be showcased at Data Centre World Asia 2024 from 9–10 October at Sands Expo Singapore. Industry professionals and media are invited to visit stand U15 to explore Socomec's latest innovations in power management.
