Kar-Wing Lau is the CTO and co-founder of LiquidStack (formerly Allied Control), which has created Hong Kong’s most energy-efficient and award-winning data center based on patented 2-phase immersion cooling (2-PIC) technology. He consecutively led the creation of the world's largest immersion cooled data centers with 40MW to 120MW IT load with unparalleled power densities of up to 252kW per rack and 12kW per 19-Inch RU with pPUE of as low as 1.01. Over the past decade, Kar-Wing has been named as sole inventor of over twenty 2-PIC patents. Toyota, NTT, and Microsoft are just a small selection of LiquidStack’s publicly known customers. Before LiquidStack, Kar-Wing was in the global senior management of the top 10 logistics company Agility Logistics, responsible for IT and business process improvements, and restructuring the global organization. He was also CEO and founder of the German IT consultancy firm Connecta AG, optimizing business processes with custom IT solutions for several of Germany’s major financial, print and airline companies.
